November 27, 2014 we had our 13th annual Thanksgiving Outreach!

Pastor Randy preparing for the event
While some aspects of our Thanksgiving outreach have changed over the years, the mission has not. More of Jesus Ministries is commissioned to serve the least, the last, and the lost in the Orange and Los Angeles counties in California. Part of that mission includes our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas outreaches. We do this to show God’s love towards every person.
Our Thanksgiving day outreach provides free holiday meals, clothes, toiletries, and bibles to people in need, the homeless, residents in board and care facilities or low income hotels, wherever the Lord leads.

We want to thank our many donors who helped us this year financially or with clothing and food products, including some local Starbucks, Vons grocery stores, and Panera Bread restaurants. Donations included 10 turkeys, 5 hams, stuffing, fruits, veggies, potatoes/yams, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple sauce, holiday pies, and desserts. Also included were other items like heavy duty large paper plates, small dessert plates, dinner napkins, plastic ware, and heavy duty foil wrap.
The donations and volunteers for the outreach came from various churches and backgrounds. “More of Jesus Ministries serves with all who want to serve others! 1 Cor 12:5 says there are different ministries, but the same Lord” said Pastor Randy Felten.
Pastor Randy, Susan, Tom, and 30+ volunteers provided Thanksgiving dinner for several hundred at the following locations: Coral Motel (Buena Park), Twila Reid Park (Anaheim), and Tahiti Motel (Stanton). Further, Pastor Randy and some volunteers drove around various places in Anaheim seeking homeless and hurting folks so we could provide them a Thanksgiving dinner in the name of Jesus.
A big thank you to all of the volunteers who served the Lord by serving others. Also a big thank you to all of our donors. Your support is greatly appreciated!
“This was an eye opener for some, seeing people living in a park or shelter, living in cars or seeing 50 kids living in a motel. But we need to keep going out and being the hands and feet of Jesus, this can’t just be a once or twice a year event” said Pastor Randy. “My prayer is that since we’ve been blessed, we can continually do this while keeping Jesus at the forefront of everything we do.”
