More of Jesus Ministries Christmas Outreach

More of Jesus Ministries had their 12th annual Birthday Celebration for Jesus on Christmas Eve. Pastor Randy Felten, Dr. Harley Howard from K-Wave 107.9 radio, Tom Horvarth, and other volunteers gave out several hundred toys, clothing, and a truck load of food at various motels and parks in Orange County including Coral Motel (Buena Park), Twila Reid Park (Anaheim), Tahiti Motel (Stanton), and Hospitality Inn (Garden Grove).

God provides everything needed: the willing hearts to serve, the prayer warriors that keep us covered and in His will, as well as, the generous hearts of those who donate. We had candy donated by Vons, food was donated by local Trader Joes and Panera Breads, and toys were from Toys for Tots and The 401K Club Hot Rod Shop toy drive.

Pastor Randy was blessed to share the Christmas Story from the second chapter of the gospel of Luke with 250+ men, women and children. Said Randy “we do what the bible calls us to do, we go out and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We simply celebrate the true reason for the season, Jesus' birthday."
Ever year More of Jesus Ministries passes out birthday cards for Jesus. What is unique about these cards is that they challenge people to give their lives back to Jesus in 5 ways:
1) Acknowledge to their family and friends that they made Jesus their Lord and Savior.

2) Put Jesus first in their lives.
3) Pray to Jesus every day.
4) Read the bible to get to know Jesus and his will.
5) Tell their family and friends who Jesus is and how Jesus wants to love them.
As we always do, we want to thank our donors for their support. Also a big thank you to the volunteers! As there is no better way to experience the true meaning of Christmas than to give to those in need. Hebrews 13:16 'And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased’.
Summing up the outreach, Pastor Randy said “what better way to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ then to give of our time, talent and resources. The toys, clothing, and food provide the opportunity to love on people and share with them the gospel. We hope to encourage everyone we meet to read the Bible and come to the knowledge of Jesus' love for them."

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

November 27, 2014 we had our 13th annual Thanksgiving Outreach!

While some aspects of our Thanksgiving outreach have changed over the years, the mission has not. More of Jesus Ministries is commissioned to serve the least, the last, and the lost in the Orange and Los Angeles counties in California. Part of that mission includes our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas outreaches. We do this to show God’s love towards every person.
Our Thanksgiving day outreach provides free holiday meals, clothes, toiletries, and bibles to people in need, the homeless, residents in board and care facilities or low income hotels, wherever the Lord leads.

We want to thank our many donors who helped us this year financially or with clothing and food products, including some local Starbucks, Vons grocery stores, and Panera Bread restaurants. Donations included 10 turkeys, 5 hams, stuffing, fruits, veggies, potatoes/yams, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple sauce, holiday pies, and desserts. Also included were other items like heavy duty large paper plates, small dessert plates, dinner napkins, plastic ware, and heavy duty foil wrap.
The donations and volunteers for the outreach came from various churches and backgrounds. “More of Jesus Ministries serves with all who want to serve others! 1 Cor 12:5 says there are different ministries, but the same Lord” said Pastor Randy Felten.
Pastor Randy, Susan, Tom, and 30+ volunteers provided Thanksgiving dinner for several hundred at the following locations: Coral Motel (Buena Park), Twila Reid Park (Anaheim), and Tahiti Motel (Stanton). Further, Pastor Randy and some volunteers drove around various places in Anaheim seeking homeless and hurting folks so we could provide them a Thanksgiving dinner in the name of Jesus.
A big thank you to all of the volunteers who served the Lord by serving others. Also a big thank you to all of our donors. Your support is greatly appreciated!
“This was an eye opener for some, seeing people living in a park or shelter, living in cars or seeing 50 kids living in a motel. But we need to keep going out and being the hands and feet of Jesus, this can’t just be a once or twice a year event” said Pastor Randy. “My prayer is that since we’ve been blessed, we can continually do this while keeping Jesus at the forefront of everything we do.”
